1st October Dear Daddy-Long-Legs, I love college and I love you for sending me here — I am very, very happy. My room is up in a tower on the top floor. There are three other girls on this floor of the tower. One of the girls wears glasses and always tells us that she is busy. The other two girls are Sally and Julia. Sally has red hair and a turned-up nose and is very friendly. Julia comes from one of the first families in New York and hasn't looked at me yet. Sally and Julia share the room. The other girl and I have got rooms of our own. There are two windows in my room. When I look out of them I can see a beautiful garden.
